Open University approached The Hype Factory to create a series of videos about students with stories core to their global appeal. May it be a professional footballer looking towards their future after sports, or someone looking a new career.
A FOOTBALL CAREER CAN BE ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL.
The Open University asked us to develop a style that was different to the typical story driven content that universities are known for using, something that strikes more emotion, resonates with the viewer and uses their experiences outside of the campus to further tell each persons story as this is such a core element to each Open University student’s story.
Our first film tells the story of professional footballer Bobby Burns and his return to education through The Open University. Mixing his further education with a full time football career makes it difficult to find the time to study, and focus on what would be a vital part of his future after sports.
